Science literacy is connected to the level of education, and with only around one third of the population (25 or over) with a graduate degree or above in US, it makes me wonder whether the individuals who completed the survey really understood what genetic editing meant. For that matter, genetic editing is relatively a new topic that even individuals in fields other than genetics might not be completely aware of.

This is not to question this survey outcome, but just like, generally, Presidential elections were not based on popularity contest, some of these topics should not be completely determined and influenced by majority based survey outcomes.
